		NIVEA: first place in "Trusted Brands 2003" No other German brand in Europeinspires as much trust as NIVEAaccording to the Trusted Brands2003 study by the publisher anddirect marketing company Reader’sDigest. NIVEA topped the brand hitlist in the skin care product categoryin 16 countries, coming in first forthe third successive year in Germany.


The Netherlands: Beiersdorf products win prestigious prizes The ASTIR Awards were presented inAmsterdam on February 20, 2003.These prizes for innovative cosmeticsare presented annually by the Dutchassociation of cosmetics journalists.Beiersdorf products received awardsin three categories: Eucerin Face Carewon the face care, NIVEA FOR MENthe mens’ toiletries, and NIVEA bodySilky Shimmer Lotion the body carecategory.

Brazil: new production facility opened On April 8, 2003, our Brazilian affiliateofficially opened a new productionfacility in Itatiba. The ceremony wasattended by employees and localrepresentatives. The factory was builtto meet the demand for NIVEA productsin Brazil. NIVEA now occupies leadingpositions in most market segments inthe country.


		France: Innovation Award 2003 for the Hansaplast Spray Plaster On June 12, 2003, the HansaplastSpray Plaster received the FrenchInnovation Award 2003 for technologicalachievement in the "Concept"category. The prize was awarded byLSA, the leading French retail trademagazine.

		Eucerin: new international markets Establishing a presence on newinternational markets is an importantpart of Beiersdorf’s successfulgrowth model. In line with this strategy,the medical skin care brandEucerin was launched in Brazil inApril, in South Africa in July, and inFrance in September. Now even moreconsumers worldwide have thechance to experience the compellinghigh quality of Eucerin products,thus continuing the brand’s stronggrowth of the last few years.


Germany: Beiersdorf increases number of apprentices In 2003, Beiersdorf increased thenumber of new apprentices inGermany to 92 (previous year: 63).This corresponds to an increase by46 %. The move emphasizes theCompany’s commitment to helpingyoung people enter the workforce.Beiersdorf is currently training atotal of around 200 apprentices intwelve professions.

Allianz sells Beiersdorf shares On October 23, 2003, Allianz concludedan agreement on the sale of alarge part of its stake in Beiersdorfwith Tchibo Holding AG, HGV HamburgerGesellschaft für VermögensundBeteiligungsverwaltung mbH,and the TROMA Alters- und Hinterbliebenenstiftung,which becameeffective on December 22, 2003. Thisensures Beiersdorf’s independenceand allows the Company to continueits successful growth model.


		Labello goes online with a new website Labello has been synonymous withreliable protection and healthy lipcare for almost 100 years. The newwebsite, www.labello.com, presentsthe lip care brand in a moderndesign and provides comprehensivecontent produced especially withconsumers in mind. In addition touseful information, the websiteoffers entertaining tips and tricks,which makes choosing the right lipcare child’s play.

Beiersdorf AG concludes share buyback program On January 23, 2004, Beiersdorf AGconcluded a public offer to buy backup to 10% of the Company’s sharecapital. The offer was addressed toall shareholders and offered thema purchase price of €113.76 per share.With the settlement of the sharebuyback program on February 3, 2004,Beiersdorf AG acquired own sharestotaling 9.99% of the share capital.


		Beiersdorf website relaunched The Beiersdorf website(www.Beiersdorf.com) has a new"virtual design" with a more empathetic,modern touch. The structure,graphics, and content of the Group’splatform have been revised. Thewebsite offers a comprehensive overviewof the Company and its ten brandfamilies. The information is dividedinto the following sections: "AboutUs," "Press", "Investor Relations","Our Brands", and "Jobs andCareer".
